Let’s do a Giveaway!

Honestly I had this great idea back in early May that I would do a “Christmas in July” giveaway theme for the blog in well…July.

I ordered a bunch of patterns that I have been wanting and a book (that will be later this month) in doubles with the grand plan that I would make the pattern and blog about it and give away a brand new pattern (and maybe some fabric) to a lucky reader.

A win-win for both as I would finally make time to make all those little items I see and wish I had when out teaching or going to shows.

Then May madness hit Chez Depre and in mid June I was informed of the wish to step up my book deadline by two months.

So I am sorry that my “made items” will not accompany my giveaway blogs (there will be at least 5!) in July…but I think you will give me a pass.

So here is Giveaway #1.

Suzy's%20SackIt’s this just the cutest little sack pattern.

And how perfect for hexies on the run.

The pattern is Suzy’s Sack by This & That by Sherri K. Falls.

You can find her website here.

I’m adding two FQs of fabric to get you started.

I perused Sherri’s website and even though it is after July 4th there is still 24 hours to Bastille Day and so I wish to share this lovely pattern she has too.

It is called Liberty Lane!

So leave a comment below telling me what treasure you would store in your Suzy’s Sack and I will use a random number generator on Monday morn to pull a winner!

And yes you too can say hexies.  Open-mouthed smile

Enjoy,

MickeySignature

p.s This is what I had to deal with when trying to take the picture for today’s blog.  Someone thinks every time I touch the camera it’s all about her.

I would use that stylish little sack to carry special treats, like pupp-eroni, milk bone biscuits and beggin' strips, when we go on walk-abouts. I would promise to bring my Molly, along with the treat bag, to share with your Molly, when she is visiting her two legged sister in Conway!!!

Andee said...

I might just use it for my yarn and needles, or lunch, or snacks, or hexies on the go....:) Thanks for the chance!

Ingrid said...

I would love to win because an expert perfected this little sack and a connoisseur selected it specially for me to keep all my Moxie Girl little extra patterns to stitch on the go while I am waiting at all those 'waiting' places.
Thanks for doing this

Think it would be perfect to carry hexies on the go in. Thanks for a chance to win!!

I would probably make a bunch for my quilt guild's boutique at our quilt show!

I would carry hand appliqué in it. Great little sack!

Do I hear a powerful, sucking up sound???? Yep, that's what it is. I am sucking up to Molly, to try to sway her to voting for me. I am NOT stupid. I KNOW who the real boss is at Chez Depre...La Chien, petite Mollee!

NonnaD said...

I'd use it to carry all my hand work in! Hexies, yo-yos etc...lol I'd probably make one for all the ones I have going! I'd probably make a hexi embellishment and a yo-yo to put on the banding so I would know-N-Go! ;-)

Perfect size bag to carry my small on-the-run knitting project or my hand piecing work! My mind is reeling with ideas :-)

I would carry the paper pieces and templates for pieced hexies. The book won't fit, alas.

Love the bag and Molly! I think it looks like a great grab bag for the car - put in some Kleenex, lip gloss, snacks for the kids and head to the park! Thanks for sharing Mickey!

Molly is such a little ham! I would make one for my hexies-on-the-go, another for sashiko-on-the-go, and a third for random handwork saved for watching TV with DH. Thanks for the chance to win!

I also have a helper at my house. She always seems to know when I am laying out quilt blocks on the floor and adds her input to the arrangement!!

This sack says Hexie "go" bag t o me. I am always taking my hexies with me. They are great for travel, especially when I am flying.

I love this sack. I would use it for work snacks, or mini projects to go. I will make them for my daughters in law. I know they will love them!

rsb said...

What a cute bag! The possibilities are endless but it looks to me perfect for snacks while traveling to see my daughter.

Kathy Rogers said...

It would be perfect for doggy treat and poop bags for when I take a trek with my BFF (Best Fur Friend).

I think it would be great to carry any on the go sewing needs. I could take it to work and do some sewing on my lunch break.

So cute! I would use it for hexies-on-the-go, but I want to give it to my niece who has chosen to transfer to the Running Start Program at a community college. She will leave her old school and start this fall to finish her last 2 years of high school and first 2 years of college, all at the same time. She is a little sad to leave friends and needs the bag as a pick-me-up to carry smacks to campus.

I would love to make this bag for my hand piecing projects!

Barbara Black said...

I think hand appliqué projects would go nicely in this sweet sack!

Jane said...

This bag would force me to move from the "collecting fat quarters for hexies" phase to the "actually MAKING hexies" phase. I would be great for my knitted sock project(s) also.

Judy D in WA said...

I love Suzi's Sack and would have to have one or two for my hexies and of course would have to make some for the granddaughters for their own treasures. :)

Deb Marshall said...

Hi Denise, my 4yr old would carry all her treasures around in it... too cute!

I would make one for my niece (age 8)and one for my hand sewing take-alongs. It's adorable.

Christine Lyle said...

It really is a super cute bag. Mine would be for hand applique projects . . . and a bit of chocolate of course!

Kisses to Molly from Potus!

Virginia said...

The bag would be perfect as a sock project bag or maybe to hold my current wip out of my handspun yarn.

Linda said...

I would use the sack for little quilt pieces (maybe hexies) that i take along to work on while waiting at practice, dr appt, etc.......
I have a cat that comes from the woodwork every time I put a quilt on the floor to photograph!!!

Quilting Tangent said...

I would use it for my sewing supplies (needles, pins, scissor, thread, and pieces of blocks)that I want to take somewhere or just keep all together.

Unknown said...

I'll opt out of this if you bring Miss M in October. Meet & greet for Miss M and free M'sitting whilst momma works with lots of belly rubs, walks & spoiling included ;)

Mickey Depre said...

I won't be bringing Miss M. But I might be bringing Mr. P!

Jacs Sacs said...

I LOVE any and ALL sacs!! How absolutely adorable is this one!! Thanks for the giveaway :) And Merry Christmas in July!

Sharen said...

Cute!Cute! It would be handy for so many things and I think I would first use it for my on-the-go Hexie Project. Great idea and perfect for this!

GO STARS! said...

I would use the CUTE bag for hand stitching hexies. But the first bag would be for my niece to carry special things to keep her distracted while going for her radiation treatments.
Love the photo bomber! My cat does that too. Put something down for a picture and get a picture of a cat walking across it, laying on it, just generally being a pest. Like he doesn't get any attention.

Carrying the hexie project seems like a really good idea. Depending on the size I have a folding foot stool that fits in some sizes of purses that I carry to church, etc because I am short.

What a cute bag pattern with all kinds of quilty possibilities to tuck inside. Or maybe my lunch for the bee. Love on that puppy some for me!

Oh nice a give away. I do like the patterns and the fabric to jump start the project. I am making lots of hexagons since I took your class in Austin early in this year.
Just using a pencil box to keep them in at this point till I get them sewn together into rosettes.

What an adorable bag. I think it would be great to carry all my punch needle stuff!

Sharon - IN said...

Such a cute bag! and nice fat quarters too! It looks like a snack bag, but Hexies on the go would surely fit and maybe a Seam-Fix tool too!

Haha when I seen your doggie she made me smile and chuckle. Thanks for that and the giveaway. She is a real cutie and that's a good idea for the bag, hexies.

I would make one for my hardanger projects in progress one to hold my hardanger thread. I would make more just because they are so pretty.

I would carry some handwork of sorts or the hexies in that darn little cute bag!

Debby, crowefan0517 said...

I would love to use this as a small lunch sack for my p&b sandwich & carrot sticks which is always my lunch, especially at UFO days at out guild (no refrigeration needed :)
They laugh at me all the time because I still use a Piglet lunch sack which my kids used when growing up. (Guess I haven't grown up yet, lol)

Joan Sweeney said...

I would love to have the pattern for the little sack. I could keep it by my chair and it could hold my hexies, yoyos, yarn, embroidary floss, thread, scissors, needles, and the list could go on and on. It could also go any place with me.

Just gotta try those Hexies...and when I do....I need a new pouch to carry them in. Tuning in to The Quilt Show to watch and learn. Thanks Mickey....

Wendy said...

I have a hexi project that I am working on right now that I would put in the little sack...currently they reside in a zip lock bag that I carry when on the go.

SewLindaAnn said...

Love the pattern! If I don't win I'm buying it anyway. I would make it in laminate and put all the little things I need for a tennis match in it. Looks like the perfect size!

Karrie said...

I'd probably throw a book in it, and use it as a purse. Thanks for the chance to win!

VickiT said...

Awwwwwww I want the puppy. He/she's adorable. BUT.......since I'm fairly sure you won't give your little sewing buddy up, I'll tell you that I would make that to give to my Granddaughter for her birthday at the end of next month. She was here two days ago and said she wanted a purse to go with her dress I said I'd make for her birthday. Yes I know that isn't a purse, but she's only 6 yrs old and she would have no problem storing her treasures in that and it's the perfect size for her. She has a bunch of little dolls that would fit perfectly inside.

I love your Molly...our Molly is a standard Poodle.
I love, love, love the little bags and I'd store my hexies in one for sure. I am making them for a quilt I have in mind...just have to carve out more time to make more.

Those are the cutest little bags. I would use one to stash my yarn and thread bits, and little things I like to embellish fabric with. They would make nice little gift bags for Christmas, placing little things in. I just like cute things sitting around also just to look at.
